How do we process?
Solid material such as crowns, jewelers scrap and grindings are melted into a homogeneous bar (homogeneous means that it is melted at a temperature enabling uniformity of the precious metals throughout the bar) and a drilling sample is taken from both sides of the resulting bar to determine precious content. (The assay is carried out by an independent to preserve total integrity)
Combustible material such as sweepings and extractor bags, rugs and carpets have to undergo an incineration process to reduce the material to a fine powder form and then the assay is conducted using acid dissolution of a representative sample.
We have recently installed state of the art incinerators meeting full environmental standards specifically dedicated to the reduction and resolution of floor carpeting. It is worth noting that aA recent carpet processed for a client in the UK returned over £13,000 ($25,000). This specialist process usually takes 4-6 weeks but the returns can be sensational for our clients.
